The project brief was to design, supply and install a power system upgrade and existing power system on Abrolhos Islands, 50km West of Geraldton, WA. A stand-alone solar power system installed by another business had previously been used to supply electricity for the fishing operation. However, the original inverter had failed and the original battery bank had reached the end of its life.
Solar Shop Australia delivered a new solar power system, incorporating a larger solar array (8.2kW), maximum power point tracking, battery bank (120V, 1200Ah) and inverter (12kW). The original solar array was incorporated into the system along with the existing backup diesel generator. The new solar power system is designed to withstand the harsh environment experienced on the Abrolhos Islands.
The logistics of offshore installation capacity, with inverter power system manufacture taking place at SA head office, project management, balance of system warehousing and field operations being coordinated by the local WA branch demonstrate Solar Shop Australia’s capacity to deliver tailored and innovative renewable energy solutions to the remotest site of sites.
