Planet Ark operations were continually growing, and the previous renewable energy system was not sufficient for the new energy demands.
The project brief was to engineer the upgrade of the existing power system to deliver an extra 50kWh of energy per day, inclusive of a new 10kW continuous power supply for the expanded operations of the Planet Ark Park Blue Mountains which consists of the Accommodation Building, Office, Workshop/Office and Call Centre.
Solar Shop Australia used its design experience and expertise to increase the solar power capacity of the previous solar array by 19kW on roof tops of the Call Centre, Office, Workshop/Office and the Accommodation Building, together with a Wind Turbine. The previous ground-mount solar panels array was also integrated into the system.
The new inverter and battery infrastructure was incorporated into the design. The integration included communications between all inverters in the system. This installation was coordinated from the Commercial Division located in the Australian Head Office, with a specialist team of Solar Shop Australia electricians and wind turbine installers and local panel installers conducting the majority of the works.
Post-construction servicing and system support has been a feature of the relationship between Solar Shop Australia and the client. With the projected energy demand now increased, the Park and Buildings spaces are being developed to accommodate more corporate tenants and visitors.
Solar Shop Australia continues to drive and to develop its capabilities to expand into new markets. The logistics of remote power systems interstate installation capacity and capability demonstrated at the Wentworth Falls site typifies many others in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.
